There’s a reason why the summer season and summer fashion ranks high on my list! I can just be myself, wear what I want and gobble enough ice creams without batting an eyelid! Summer does that to you! It brings in renewed hope and no more bundling yourself in many layers. Summer fashion began with florals for me in this post and now in the month of May, I’ve moved on to nautical stripes trend. As you might remember, I already had posted a blog wearing an outfit with the much- adored stripes on the skirt. What’s special about this blog? Well, it’s nautical stripes and bold ones at that! 🙂

The nautical stripes design was inspired by sailors. This style was introduced in the year 1858 as the uniform for the French Navy. The iconic designer and my absolute favourite, Coco Chanel took inspiration from this design and launched her line in the year 1917. Wow, this was one designer with a strong vision. I mean, look at the number of nautical stripes that are still making waves internationally. Back home, there’s a number of nautical stripes trend in dresses, shirts, skirts, and more sporting the horizontal stripes.

Now, while I am already going ga-ga over stripes, I thought I’d lend a different touch this time. So, I teamed a long grey dress with the longline shrug instead of the regular jeans. The result is as you see.

Like it? Send me your versions of the nautical stripes trend to: shopinstilettos@gmail.com. I’d post it here 🙂

The summer month has been intense, high and if you are a Banglorean, I’m sure you must have been confused with the stormy skies, the hail, and the torrential rains. I find it beautiful, really! If you want to check out what I’ve doing for the summer, don’t forget to view the crushing on florals and the nautical stripes fashion. […]
