Friends, gear up, as ’tis the season to be jolly, as we need to deck the halls with boughs of holly!

I have done so many posts on fashion trends! I could not resist this subject as the year 2019 comes to an end.

The entire year has been one with its share of learning. There have been times when I may have felt things as not worth it. There are times when I placed my trust in people I judged differently or found trust-worthy (and, that was not so). Self-doubt does slowly come in through the door. However, this year, I have been firm to kick this self-doubt straight out of the door. With my high heels, of course!

There are too many voices around you that tell you to do the things you ought to do. This year, I am glad to have firmly stood by my own decisions. Without any worry and fear.

As an Indian fashion blogger, I’ve noticed the fashion industry is ever-changing and what’s in today is out tomorrow. Yes, I firmly believe we need to focus on building ourselves from within before focusing on the exteriors (there’s nothing wrong in wanting to feel and look good). Yet, no amount of clothing brands and makeup can fix what is inside you. We may keep buying new things to look better and feel better. But, tell me, how long does it fix you? I am sure that is a momentary feeling as compared to working on your self-healing process.

What is needed is a makeover from within. A makeover that gets you to work on areas that you need to mend. Yes, we all need to heal from our past troubles and traumas. Where people may have defined what you need to do. Where people may have suggested you are no longer needed, or worth it.

An internal makeover gives you the power to change the way you perceive yourself. A greater belief in self gives you the confidence to find opportunities that are waiting for you. Changing your mindset takes time, so does inner healing. But, heal you must, to move ahead for a better YOU.

Once you know your inner strength, you’ll notice a whole new aura about yourself. Yes, it’s ok to splurge a little on yourself, buy that dress you want, but make sure you buy it because genuinely want to wear it. Shopping is retail therapy, but remember, this therapy is temporary. Do it to feel good but be aware that you need to first work on yourself from within. That’s when you’ll experience true happiness and contentment.

Now, back to fashion for the New Year!

About the outfit:

Yes, I know, this is a fashion blog but one aimed with a difference. I want to my blog to be synonymous with maintaining a body-positive image. I’ve worn a dress from Shein for I fell in love with the pop of colors and the wild design that is synonymous with the wild child in me. I am the beach lover who would love to run freely in a pair of shorts and a crop top with sand all over. But, that wouldn’t be suitable in the city so a dress it is! Ha ha!

The makeup is honestly minimum but I love my reds, and red lips it is. When it comes to New Year fashion trends, I always love the comfort of dresses as they can be a versatile piece to own. Combine it with heels or flats. Btw, I am wearing a cat in my ears. Yes, a creative earring design that looks like a cat!

As the New Year approaches, what are the things that you are willing to do to make that one change in your personality? I’d love to know in the comments below.
