This time, it’s a crop top and maxi skirt combo for the trend of rewearing

I recently combined the crop top fashion trend with a fitted pencil skirt. The objective of this blog series is to show you how to be a re-wearer. We are so caught up on shopping and buying clothing that may hang in our wardrobe for months, that we forget its effects on the world we live in. This time, I’ve worked on the crop top and long skirt combo – one which allows me to reuse the crop top while creating a different look for the current weather.

I’ve always struggled with tops to pair with long skirts. I mean, I’ve purchased a skirt and then had to hunt for a long time to find the right crop top and maxi skirt combo. With this basic crop top fashion, I can now create as many looks as I desire!

Crop Top Styling Ideas

I’m sure you have a maxi skirt in your wardrobe!

  • Choose a skirt that can be tied at the waist. A low-waisted skirt is best avoidable if you are not comfortable showing too much skin.
  • Choose the right crop top design. If your skirt is long and flowing, you can experiment with a crop top that has frills and ruffles like the one in the photo. If your skirt has layers, opt for a simple crop that is well-fitted and plain.
  • Accessorize! Don’t forget to add some colour – either work on adding bright earrings or a good choice of footwear.

Why be a Rewearer

As an Indian fashion blogger, I’ve noticed many things at work. People are feeling the stress of social media. The stress here is to avoid being seen in the same clothing in the photographs that are splashed online. The number of photographs that are being snapped every day and the stress it causes is evident in the rising number of people who shop till they drop. As fashion trends keep changing, it influences people to revamp the wardrobe within weeks. While a little bit of shopping is totally fine, the rush to update social media posts in new clothing can be an area of concern in the next years.

We can re-wear the same clothes and create new looks if you let your imagination flow. The trick about rewearing is that it forces you to think differently and you’ll find a whole new way to dress up in style! All, while being creative and sensible as a shopaholic!

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about the off shoulder crop top fashion trend and you might have already found more ideas on reusing this style. Do you have any ideas to share? Write in the comments below. Connect with me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to get access for more updates.
