The recent news about the Miss Japan title winner created ripples in the media. And, it was probably her half-Indian identity that caused a disruption on the Internet as opinions were shared via tweets and posts.
Half-Indian Priyanka Yoshikawa born in Tokyo to an Indian father is proud to be Japanese as much as she is half-Indian.
For all my love for fashion and beauty pageants, sometimes I feel the boundaries unnecessarily create a divide. She’s won the competition amongst a tough fight I’m sure and let’s allow her to bask in the glory. Can we focus on some good things, please?
Let’s aim for beauty without boundaries.
